“Seven years ago, I was a socially isolated child, who rarely talked to anyone, spending school recesses pacing around a solitary tree. Then I arrived at Discovery School in 2011, some years after having been diagnosed with autism. Discovery School has given me the opportunity to grow a great deal and feel confident enough to be involved in my community. I have participated both in school plays and in local theatre productions. As my confidence has grown, I have started to become involved in political activities, including my recent participation in the 2018 Forum for Young Canadians in Ottawa. I am currently registered to begin classes in September at the University of Victoria. ” ~ Grade 12 Student
